In 1975 the former Dutch plantation colony
Suriname became the independent Republic of Suriname. So strong ties have been existing
between Suriname / Paramaribo and Holland / Amsterdam for ages. Suriname was occupied by
the British in the early 19th century. The British set the first steps against slavery.
Blue Ears offers you an unique selection of
